Funeral hall entrance canopy

The design adds a new entrance space to the existing funeral hall, improving comfort for visitors while giving the building a more dignified and contemporary expression.

The new canopy creates a clearly legible, sheltered entrance that offers protection from wind and rain and greater privacy when arriving at the funeral hall. The architecture is deliberately kept simple and dark so that it feels calm and does not disturb the character of this place of remembrance. Perforated cladding partially encloses the entrance space and creates a greater sense of intimacy.

The design also includes the inscription “Ja som vzkriesenie a život.” (“I am the resurrection and the life.”), used not as decoration but as a gentle symbol of hope and encouragement in a space associated with farewell. The whole intervention respects the existing building and seeks, through a small architectural change, to significantly improve the dignity of the entrance and the overall character of the building.
