A compact car park replaces an extensive surface car park and frees up space for greenery without reducing parking capacity in the town centre.
The design for the car park at DOORS pub responds to an existing surface car park with 61 spaces. Instead of further expanding paved areas, parking is concentrated in a two-storey building with a capacity of approximately 80 vehicles. From the public space, the building is hidden behind a shaped green embankment with planting, which softens its visual impact and naturally integrates it into the surrounding greenery. Although the site could accommodate around 108 spaces, the design favours a balance between transport needs and a higher-quality landscape and architectural solution. The result is greater parking capacity, a smaller share of visually dominant paved areas and a more refined transition between parking, the pedestrian zone and the existing public space.
