Integrated greenery along the cycle route

The design connects cycling infrastructure with greenery and turns an everyday route through the town into a safe, pleasant and climate-resilient public space.

The integrated greenery project in Dubnica nad Váhom sees the cycle route not merely as a transport link, but as part of the town's green infrastructure. The route runs through the existing urban environment and is complemented by trees, perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering plants that support biodiversity, improve the microclimate and help retain rainwater. The planted strips also naturally separate cyclists from other traffic, increasing both safety and the quality of the public space. The design includes resting places and information features explaining sustainability and how the town works. The cycle route thus becomes not only a link between neighbourhoods, but also a green corridor for everyday movement, recreation and contact with nature.
